Poetry & Prose is all about the musings from the innermost hollows of my beating heart. It is what is on the fringes of my mind...and within my restless soul...and what dwells in the core dark depths of my being...and flows out of my everchanging colorful moods and feelings...

Deep Down Inside
By Robin "Robbie" Ayele
Below the lump way deep down inside
is a place where fear can't reside.
It's a secret spot reserved just for God
where he sits, smiles and gives approving nods.
He is resting on the throne of your soul
where He is ready to let goodness and mercy unfold
and yes He already knows everything will be okay
and that you are definitely here to stay.
There is much more work to be done.
More good times, more laughter and
good old-fashioned fun.
So although the lump is there for now,
hold your head up high and never bow.
The good Lord is totally in control and He can handle any feat
as the Good Book has told.
And yes He will take care of whatever ails,
just believe that He never ever fails.
Hold tight to what lies deep down inside.
Where God dwells and our Lord abides.

Mama, Is There A Place for Me?
By Robbie Ayele
mama is there a place for me?
in this big wide world you see?
is there a place for me like honey and bees?
or like the seashells on the beach?
or the fish in the open sea?
is there a place for me?
to see all I want to see?
and all i need to be?
mama is there a place for me?
to be myself and totally free?
to follow all my dreams?
i don't need you to tease,
is there really a place for me?
mama is there a place for me
with my brown eyes and chocolate skin indeed?
is there someplace i can breathe?
please tell me would you please?
what you really believe?
mama is there a place for me?
